Record keeping, rules, and shortcuts
3rd party platform rule compliance and record keeping via strict access control is and will be, an ever-increasing risk factor for all companies and arguably one of the most under-appreciated risks a business can face.
Why? We are not talking about the cost of a monetary penalty but rather the lost opportunity should the application withdraw access to their services for non-compliance.
As businesses will be increasing learn, simply having a designated individual manning a number of individual inboxes, answering questions and following up in what they see as being an acceptable time frame is actually not acceptable.
The problem lies not only in the need to run separate applications but more so in the consolidated record keeping. Whether for GDPR compliance (yes, conv.rs is GDPR compliant) but also with regards to record keeping for industry-specific regulatory requirements. In contrast, with conv.rs not only are you able to enforce access control to specific individuals or teams but also provide a consolidated inbox but with multi-user access and centralized recording keeping.
Examples of non-compliance would be in terms of not adhering to the promotional versus update rules recently implemented by Facebook Messenger, or accessing the WhatsApp API prior to official approval from WhatsApp/Facebook.
It is for this sole reason why we are not, or encouraging our partners to, circumventing the present restrictions in place with WhatsApp API access. Whilst you may see services claiming access to WhatsApp services for sales and customer service team, in Facebook (the WhatsApp parent company) own words:
"We are eager to help more people and businesses connect on WhatsApp and are working hard to bring more companies and solution providers onto the platform. Our program is currently in a limited public preview."
